Alstom invests over 1 million euros in Bucharest testing lab
Alstom has inaugurated a renovated and expanded testing laboratory in Bucharest, Romania, following an investment of over 1 million euros. The facility, part of the Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) organization, is known as the Field Integration and Validation Platform (FIVP).
The laboratory is designed to support the development, integration, and validation of advanced railway signaling and electrification solutions for projects in Romania and international markets. By simulating real-world operating conditions, the facility allows engineers to verify system performance and reduce implementation risks before deployment in operational networks.
The expansion increases testing capacity, enabling the facility to conduct up to two full system tests or six individual subsystem tests simultaneously. The laboratory is operated by an engineering organization of more than 200 employees specializing in signaling technology, software development, and testing.
