Alstom wins 460 million euro contract for Riyadh metro trains

French manufacturer Alstom has signed a contract worth approximately 460 million euros with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) to supply driverless metro trains for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The new rolling stock will be integrated into the existing metro infrastructure to increase capacity and provide more frequent services to meet growing passenger demand. Alstom will also manage the maintenance of these trains as part of its current operation and maintenance contract for lines 3, 4, and 6.

This agreement builds on a long-standing partnership between Alstom and the RCRC, following the previous delivery of 116 driverless trains. The company expects to record this new order during the second quarter of the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
