Alta Floresta authorities investigate suspected vehicle cloning

Authorities in Alta Floresta, Brazil, have launched an investigation into suspected vehicle cloning following a traffic stop. During a ‘Lei Seca’ enforcement operation, officers intercepted a white Fiat Uno with São Paulo license plates.

Discrepancies were found between the driver's documentation, which claimed licensing through 2026, and official transit systems, which showed the last valid record was from 2022. Attempts to verify the vehicle's chassis number were unsuccessful due to heavy rust on the identification area. The owner stated the vehicle was purchased from a commercial garage in July. The car and the owner have been taken to the Civil Police Station for further investigation.
