Altamira and Saltillo municipalities in Mexico deliver free health services and hearing aids

In Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mayor Dr. Armando Martínez Manríquez and DIF Altamira president Rosa Irma Luque Pérez led the "Corredor de la Salud – Lazos del Bienestar" on 9 July 2026. The event brought free medical, dental, nutritional, maternal, women's health, family‑planning, pharmacy, vaccination (including rabies for pets), breast‑exam, audiology, hearing‑aid fitting, glasses, adult‑education services and civil‑registry assistance to more than 600 residents from 66 neighbourhoods. The officials stressed coordination with the state government and the state DIF system headed by Dr. María Santiago de Villarreal.

In Saltillo, Coahuila, Mayor Javier Díaz González and honorary DIF president Luly López Naranjo oversaw the delivery of 120 hearing‑aid devices to low‑income citizens. Each device, worth about 11,000 pesos, required a modest 500‑peso contribution from recipients. The program, supported by Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, state DIF head Liliana Salinas Valdés and Inspira Coahuila, builds on a previous year’s distribution of 367 devices, totaling 487 units delivered during the current municipal administration. Beneficiaries highlighted how the aids improved daily communication and quality of life.
