Altarea breaks ground on mixed-use data center and student housing in Vélizy-Villacoublay

Altarea has broken ground on an innovative mixed-use project in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France. The development is designed to integrate digital infrastructure with residential and commercial uses.

The site will feature a next-generation urban data center of 7 MW IT, developed through Altarea’s NDC offering, to meet the growing data processing needs of local businesses and public institutions.

In addition to the digital infrastructure, the project includes a social student residence managed by Studéfi and owned by CDC Habitat. This residential component will provide 363 studios and two staff units, complemented by 400 square meters of common areas including a gym, coworking space, and cafeteria. The development also incorporates four ground-floor retail spaces and various outdoor amenities.
