Altay hires Tuna Üzümcü as coach and gains Folkart backing for season preparations

Turkish 3rd‑League club Altay announced the appointment of former Bucaspor 1928 manager Tuna Üzümcü, 44, as head coach ahead of the new season. The change follows the departure of Mehmet Can Karagöz and comes as the club, overseen by general manager Atakan Atalay, deals with financial and administrative difficulties that led the previous board to resign and seek a court‑appointed trustee.

Altay began preseason training at the Gaziemir Vali Kutlu Aktaş facilities with a 38‑player squad that includes senior, U17 and U19 players. In parallel, Folkart Yapı, represented by board chairman Mesut Sancak, pledged material support to the club, describing the aid as a first step in helping Altay resume its historic role in İzmir football.
