Altcoin market shows signs of potential rally despite recent pressure

Analysts are observing shifting patterns in the cryptocurrency market, specifically regarding the performance of altcoins compared to Bitcoin. Technical analyst Erik Juffermans notes that the total value of the altcoin market, excluding Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoins, is currently seeking support in the $500 billion to $550 billion zone. If this support holds, the market could potentially rise toward $800 billion in the coming months, though failure to do so could lead to a bearish decline toward $400 billion.

Market analyst John van Meer suggests that many investors have written off altcoins, which may create opportunities for a significant rally. He posits that if major altcoins see substantial gains, Bitcoin holders might rotate their capital into these assets. He identifies several coins of interest, including XRP, Solana, Chainlink, Zcash, and Dogecoin.

Adding to these observations, analyst Darkfost reports an unusual trend where small and mid-cap cryptocurrencies are experiencing stronger short-term growth than Bitcoin or large-cap assets. The growth metric for small and mid-caps stands at 41 percent, significantly outpacing Bitcoin's 7 percent and large-cap altcoins' 3.5 percent. This deviates from the typical market cycle where Bitcoin usually leads recoveries before capital flows into smaller projects.
