Althofen hosts winter sports exchange to promote affordability

The municipality of Althofen will host its traditional winter sports exchange at the Kulturhaus on November 5 and 6. Organized by Social Councilor Klaus Trampitsch, the event aims to make winter sports more affordable for families facing rising living costs while promoting sustainability through the motto “reuse instead of waste.”

Participants can drop off well-maintained equipment, such as skis, ski boots, sleds, ice skates, helmets, and winter clothing, on November 5 between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Experts will inspect the items for condition and functionality. The sale will take place on November 6 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by the distribution of proceeds and the return of unsold items.

A small administrative fee will be collected to support social causes. Mayor Walter Zemrosser noted that the event serves as a proven way to support local families and strengthen social cohesion within the community.
