Altinköprü, Kirkuk: ISIS clash leaves one dead and two security officers wounded

A violent clash erupted in the town of Altinköprü, located in the Kirkuk region of Iraq, between Counter-Terrorism Units and members of ISIS. The confrontation reportedly began when security forces encountered an ISIS member believed to be a suicide bomber.

The engagement lasted approximately two hours, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to two security personnel. During the operation, two terrorists were killed and one was captured alive.

Following the incident, additional security forces were deployed to the area, which has been placed under a security perimeter. Authorities have launched extensive search and sweep operations to eliminate remaining threats. Erşet Salihi, a Member of Parliament for the Iraqi Turkmen Front, expressed support for the security forces, stating they have full backing to maintain stability and security in Kirkuk.
