Alto Nevados de Chillán hotel destroyed by fire

A major fire has caused the total destruction of the Alto Nevados de Chillán hotel in the Ñuble Region of Chile. The blaze, which was intensified by high winds, consumed the hotel structure, an adjacent cafeteria, and several vehicles.

Approximately 150 people, including guests and staff, were evacuated to other local accommodations. While no injuries were reported, some tourists lost all their belongings, including passports. The Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) have been deployed to the Las Trancas sector to assist with migrant documentation and administrative support for those affected.

Diego Sepúlveda, the presidential delegate of the Ñuble Region, described the event as a significant loss for the area, noting that the hotel is a landmark located next to the ski slopes and serves as a primary image for the region's main tourist center.
