Alton Garden Centre reopens expanded restaurant after £200k refit
Alton Garden Centre in Wickford has reopened its Gardener’s Retreat restaurant following a £200,000 refurbishment. The expansion includes 100 additional covers and a new carvery service available seven days a week.
The redesigned facility offers a refreshed menu, breakfast service until 11am, and weekday afternoon tea. The dining area is also dog-friendly.
This development follows the acquisition of the centre by British Garden Centres, which operates 78 sites across the UK. The Alton location, which was founded in 1971 and previously owned by the Bunker family for over 50 years, marks the fifth acquisition for British Garden Centres this year.
