Altos community wedding celebrates 42 couples
In Altos, Cordillera, 42 couples participated in a community wedding ceremony at the San Lorenzo de Altos parish. The event was organized through the Sagrada Familia program of the Santa Librada Foundation.
Bishop Ricardo Valenzuela of Caacupé presided over the religious ceremony, emphasizing the importance of marriage in strengthening families amidst modern social challenges. He described the sacrament as a way to promote unity, peace, and love within the community. Many of the participating couples had already been living together for years before formalizing their union.
The initiative marks the second consecutive year the foundation has hosted this event in Altos, bringing the total number of couples assisted by the program to 7,233. The ceremony also included the installation of Father Adalberto Kaspusta as the new parish priest and Father Renato García as the cooperator vicar.
