Altos Hornos de México ex‑workers flag creditor list errors

Ex‑workers of the Mexican steelmaker Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) have uncovered inconsistencies in the privileged creditor list compiled as part of the company's bankruptcy process. They report cases where seniority is recorded incorrectly – including a worker whose tenure was reduced by four years – and instances of workers who do not appear on the list at all.

Spokesperson Juan Hervey Valenzuela de la Torre urged all former employees to check their data before the August 28 deadline, warning that any error could delay the payment of severance and other benefits once the sale of the plant is completed. About 11 workers have already visited the company's recruitment office for verification, and Valenzuela also cited a personal claim involving more than 100,000 pesos in Infonavit deductions that is under review.
