Alubar Group expands international footprint and hits production records

Alubar Group, the largest manufacturer of aluminum electric cables in Latin America, is marking 28 years of operation with significant international expansion and production records. Originally founded in 1998 in Barcarena, Brazil, the company has evolved into a multinational with manufacturing facilities in Brazil, the United States, and Canada.

In the United States, the group has secured approvals from major energy utilities, including American Electric Power (AEP), CenterPoint, Entergy, and FirstEnergy. This expansion includes a major contract to supply approximately 7,000 tons of cables for a 345 kV transmission line in southern Texas for the South Texas Electric Cooperative (STEC) distributor, TEC.

In Canada, the Alubar Métaux unit achieved a historic production record in 2025, producing 93,441 tons of aluminum billets. In its home market of Brazil, the company maintains market leadership, with its 'Liga 1120' becoming the industry standard for transmission cables.
