Alupar and Axia win Brazil power‑line relicitation worth R$1.8 billion
The Olympus consortium, led by Alupar and the Infra II Investment fund, together with Axia Energia, were awarded four electric‑transmission projects in a government relicitation auction. The contracts cover new lines in the state of São Paulo, including underground cables for the metropolitan area, and projects in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with total planned investment of about R$1.8 billion. Olympus secured the highest‑valued lot, offering a 52 % discount to the maximum allowed annual revenue, while Axia won the remaining three lots with combined bids amounting to roughly R$668 million. All lots were relicitated after the original winner, MEZ Energia, failed to execute the projects, prompting the government to negotiate a consensual solution via the Secex‑Consenso mechanism of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU).
