Alvaro Arbeloa eyes Real Madrid talent for Fulham ahead of season

Alvaro Arbeloa, newly appointed manager of Premier League side Fulham, plans to strengthen his squad with players from Real Madrid. He has targeted midfield prospect Franco Mastantuono, who is available on a loan arrangement, and forward Gonzalo Garcia, both of whom have a good relationship with Arbeloa.

Mastantuono is attracting interest from about a dozen European clubs, but Fulham hopes to secure him under the loan deal. Arbeloa, who secured a three‑year contract with Fulham after serving as interim coach following Xabi Alonso’s departure, previously oversaw Real Madrid’s final 28 matches of the 2025/26 season, finishing second in La Liga and reaching the Champions League quarter‑finals.
