Alvaro Arbeloa pushes for Real Madrid loanees García and Mastantuono at Fulham

Álvaro Arbeloa, newly appointed Fulham manager, has identified two Real Madrid players as primary targets for the upcoming transfer window. He wants forward Gonzalo García, who scored eight goals and provided three assists during his limited appearances for Madrid, and Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono, an 18‑year‑old who made 35 appearances with three goals and one assist for the club.

Both players are currently under contract with Real Madrid, which has yet to decide on any loan moves. The club is reportedly willing to retain a 50 % stake in García’s rights, while Mastantuono, whose transfer from River Plate to Madrid cost €63.2 million, is not in the senior national team plans for the 2026 World Cup. Arbeloa hopes the loans will bolster Fulham’s squad as they prepare for the Premier League season.

Real Madrid’s interim coach José Mourinho has indicated he wants to assess the players during preseason before committing to any departures, leaving the final outcome uncertain.
