Alwar boy rescued from 400-foot deep borewell

A nine-year-old boy named Bhanu was successfully rescued after falling into an abandoned 400-foot deep borewell in Butoli village, Alwar district, Rajasthan. The incident occurred on a Monday evening when the child was chasing a kite and accidentally stepped on a stone covering the old well.

The boy became trapped at a depth of approximately 40 to 50 feet. Following an emergency call at around 6:30 p.m., local police and administrative officials arrived to coordinate a rescue operation. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) led the efforts, utilizing JCB machines to excavate the area around the borewell.

Rescuers provided the child with oxygen and water throughout the five-hour operation. Bhanu was pulled to safety at approximately 11 p.m. and was reported to be conscious, healthy, and able to speak. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for a precautionary medical examination.
