Alwar school principal investigated over viral video with students
A government school principal in the Thanagazi area of Alwar district is under investigation following the circulation of an objectionable video. The footage allegedly shows the principal bathing in a dam alongside female students from grades 9 to 12.
Villagers have accused the principal of using swimming lessons as a pretext to pick up students in his arms. The incident reportedly occurred on August 15, following Independence Day celebrations, when the principal led approximately 200 students on a two-kilometer trek through a forest area to the Bhadaj dam.
Local residents raised several concerns, noting that no female teachers accompanied the group and that the dam area is known to be dangerous, with a history of drowning incidents. Furthermore, the path taken through the forest is reportedly an area with tiger movement.
Following the viral video, angry villagers confronted the principal at the school and notified the police. Thanagazi police officials stated they are investigating the matter based on the video and have recorded the principal's statement, though no formal written complaint has been filed by students or parents as of yet.
