Alyssa Healy and Mel Jones criticize lack of visibility for Australian women’s cricket
Former Australian captain Alyssa Healy and former international Mel Jones have expressed frustration regarding the lack of visibility and scheduling support for the Australian women’s cricket team. Despite the team's global success, critics argue they are not receiving the domestic spotlight their performances deserve.
Concerns were highlighted after a recent One Day International (ODI) against New Zealand at North Sydney Oval clashed with the final day of the men’s Test match against South Africa. The match was further impacted by rain, which limited play to only 16 balls.
Scheduling issues also persist regarding upcoming fixtures. The women’s team is expected to go over four months without an international match on home soil, with upcoming series against Bangladesh and New Zealand limited to specific venues in Brisbane and Sydney.
