Alzey plans new parking garage with 245 spaces

The city of Alzey is moving forward with plans for a new parking garage located at the corner of Friedrichstrasse and Spiesgasse. TIMBRA Holding GmbH, a company based in Worms, has been awarded the contract for the planning and construction of the facility.

The proposed structure will be an open-system parking garage using steel skeleton construction, featuring eleven semi-floors to maximize space. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027, with completion expected by spring 2028. Approximately 70 percent of the 245 spaces will be designated for long-term parkers, while the remaining 30 percent will serve short-term users.

To support modern infrastructure, the garage will include nine initial electric vehicle charging points, with the capacity to expand to 82 in the future. Additionally, a bicycle garage with 14 e-bike charging sockets is planned. The city intends to implement fully digital parking management, utilizing license plate recognition and a modern payment system.
