Alzira shooting leaves one dead and sparks retaliatory arson

A violent dispute in the l'Alquerieta neighborhood of Alzira has resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man and left three others injured. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, reportedly began as a conflict between two minors. The situation escalated into a large-scale brawl involving multiple individuals, during which the deceased, identified as Enrique Muñoz Moreno, was struck by several gunshots while attempting to mediate the violence.

Following the shooting, four siblings linked to the conflict were arrested by the National Police. In a suspected act of retaliation, the home of one of the detainees, Bernardo C. M., was set on fire on Monday afternoon. The house was empty at the time of the arson, and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, resulting in only material damage. Local authorities remain on high alert in the neighborhood to prevent further violence.
