Amaal Mallik announces hiatus from film music for health reasons

Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has announced a hiatus from film music to focus on his physical and mental health. Mallik shared a photo from a hospital bed on social media, stating he needs a break for his “mind, body, soul and overall physical healing.” He indicated that he will not be participating in film music projects until next year.

This announcement follows recent tensions between Mallik and the Hindi film music industry. He previously alleged that powerful industry figures had prevented him from working on various films and had issued threats after he spoke out about industry practices.

Additionally, Mallik recently addressed criticisms regarding his song ‘Yeh Awarapan’ from the film ‘Awarapan 2’. He defended the track against allegations of copying elements from the original 2007 film and criticized what he described as “dirty games,” including the manipulation of digital views and the use of corporate bookings to influence success.
