Amaal Mallik defends family and music credits amid industry dispute

Music composer Amaal Mallik has publicly addressed a dispute regarding the credits for the song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ following a social media post by Salman Khan’s production house marking the track's 10th anniversary. Mallik noted that his name was omitted from the celebratory post, which he argues overlooks the professional recognition and rights of the creators.

Mallik clarified the song's production process, stating that he composed the track and lyricist Kumaar wrote the lyrics. He further explained that his brother, singer Armaan Malik, recorded the original version that was subsequently presented to director Nikhil Advani and actor Salman Khan, who later recorded his own version. While acknowledging that Khan's voice and image contributed significantly to the song's popularity, Mallik emphasized the importance of crediting the original contributors.

In addition to the credit dispute, Mallik defended his family against online hostility and accusations of nepotism, citing a 76-year musical legacy. He expressed frustration with industry politics and warned that he would take action against those targeting his family members, including his father, Daboo Malik.
