AMACCAO breaks ground on large waste-to-energy plant in Nghe An

Galax Joint Stock Company, a member of the AMACCAO Group ecosystem, officially broke ground on the Nghe An waste-to-energy plant on August 19, 2026. Located at the Nghi Yen solid waste treatment complex in Hai Loc, Nghe An province, the project represents one of the largest waste-to-energy facilities in central Vietnam and is among the largest in the country.

The project involves a total investment of 4,056 billion VND and covers an area of nearly 7.2 hectares. It is designed to process 1,500 tons of waste per day and generate 30 MW of electricity. The facility will utilize German Martin waste-to-energy technology, which combines German engineering with American operational standards.

Environmental standards for the plant are designed to meet European 2010/75/EU emission guidelines, which are significantly stricter than Vietnamese standards. Wastewater quality is expected to meet Column A, QCVN 40:2025/BTNMT technical regulations. Emission and dust levels will be monitored via an online system accessible to the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the public. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2028.
