Amadea cruise ship arrives at the Port of Funchal

The cruise ship Amadea, part of the Phoenix Reisen fleet, arrived at the Port of Funchal for a 34-hour stopover. The vessel carries 530 passengers and 319 crew members.

Originating from Ponta Delgada, the ship is currently on a 22-night cruise that began and will end in Bremen, Germany. Following its stay in Funchal, the Amadea is scheduled to depart for Lisbon on Sunday afternoon, with subsequent stops planned for Porto, Spain, Guernsey, and France.

Built in 1991 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan, the ship underwent remodeling last year. This arrival marks the first stop of October, a month that signals the start of the high cruise season in Madeira. The port expects to handle approximately 75,000 passengers through 33 scheduled dock reservations this month.
