Amadea cruise ship fire triggers evacuation in Bornholm

An onboard fire on the cruise ship Amadea led to the evacuation of approximately 320 passengers while the vessel was docked at the Rønne Port on the island of Bornholm, Denmark. The fire originated in a linen storage compartment.

Emergency services, including Bornholm firefighters and personnel from the Danish Emergency Management Agency, responded to the alarm at 7:21 a.m. The fire was controlled and extinguished within about 10 minutes. Authorities confirmed that no passengers or crew members were injured, and all evacuated individuals were reported to be safe and in good condition.

Emil Gørløv, head of operations for the Bornholm Fire Service, noted that the crew executed the evacuation effectively and assisted emergency responders. The Amadea is operated by the German company Phoenix Reisen and has a total capacity of approximately 600 passengers. Bornholm police have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
