Amadeus releases new visual album ‘Digg Doole’

Senegalese artist Amadeus has premiered his new visual album, ‘Digg Doole’. The project represents a significant evolution in his artistic journey, characterized by more complex rhythms, diverse musical styles, and a deeper exploration of sound textures.

A central component of the release is the use of the Wolof language, which Amadeus utilizes to achieve greater nuance, depth, and emotional expression in his songwriting. The project also features collaborations with artists Dip Doundou Guiss and Aïda Samb.

In an effort to bridge music and cinema, the album is accompanied by a film designed to provide a visual dimension to his lyrics. Amadeus noted that at this stage of his career, he felt compelled to engage with other art forms, stating, ‘The idea of this film is precisely to extend my musical repertoire into images.’
