Amador Valley High flag football earns No. 1 seed in NCS playoffs
Amador Valley High School's flag football team has secured the top seed in the North Coast Section (NCS) Division I playoffs. Led by quarterback Riley Harrington, the Dons enter the postseason with a 21-2 overall record and an undefeated 11-0 run through the East Bay Athletic League regular season and playoffs.
The team's current success follows a period of significant growth. During Harrington's freshman year, the program struggled with a 3-14 record, and the team went 7-14 during her sophomore year. Following a coaching change and increased participation in her junior year, the team improved to a 15-7 record.
Amador Valley is scheduled to host No. 16 seed San Leandro in the opening round of the playoffs on Wednesday night.
