Amador Valley High School gym naming proposal

A proposal has been suggested to name the new gymnasium at Amador Valley High School after the late Skip Mohatt. Mohatt is recognized as one of the most influential basketball coaches in Northern California and the East Bay Athletic League, having built the school's basketball program into a highly successful organization.

The proposal also suggests naming the court after Don Underwood, a longtime junior varsity coach who maintained the program's success following Mohatt's departure. The new facility is part of ongoing construction projects at the school intended to replace aging athletic infrastructure.
