Amadora hosts É Um Encontro gastronomy and culture festival

The É Um Encontro festival returns to Parque Central in Amadora from September 11 to 13. Promoted by Associação CRESCER with support from the Amadora Municipality, the event focuses on the intersection of gastronomy, music, and global cultures.

The program features a mix of renowned Portuguese chefs and cooks from various local communities to highlight cultural identity and diversity. Scheduled activities include showcookings, workshops, and discussions. Notable participants include chefs Pedro Pena Bastos, Kiko, Tia Cátia, Chakall, and Vítor Sobral.

On the opening day, September 11, the event begins with an official inauguration followed by musical performances by Juvino Varela. Gastronomic highlights include a showcooking by Pedro Pena Bastos and a fusion session between chef Kiko and Edward Muñoz Barrios. The festival also includes a discussion stage titled ‘É UMA CONVERSA… Com Impacto!’, featuring representatives from El Corte Inglés and IKEA to discuss organizational responsibility and sustainability.
