Amagi Matsuri festival features fireworks in Amagi Town

The 52nd Amagi Matsuri was held in Amagi Town, Tokunoshima, featuring a variety of community events and a large-scale fireworks display at Heido Port. The festival included a children's sumo wrestling competition, local entertainment shows, and street stalls in pedestrian zones.

The fireworks climax featured specialized displays such as the ‘Niagara Falls’ effect and underwater fireworks, which illuminated the night sky and sea surface. While the traditional parade was canceled this year as a heatstroke prevention measure, the event drew significant crowds of locals and returning residents.
