Amal Clooney visits Athens for UNESCO meeting and diplomatic talks

Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney visited Athens, Greece, on September 10, 2026, for UNESCO's annual Goodwill Ambassadors meeting. During her visit, she met with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas at the Presidential Mansion.

The meeting served as a reunion for Clooney and Tasoulas, who previously worked together in 2014 when Tasoulas was Greece's minister of culture. At that time, his ministry commissioned Doughty Street Chambers, where Clooney is based, to examine legal issues regarding the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures.

In addition to her diplomatic engagements, Clooney participated in a panel regarding artificial intelligence at the Temple of Olympian Zeus, accompanied by her mother, Baria Alamuddin.
