Amalfi Coast faces seasonal tourism paradox in November

The Amalfi Coast is experiencing a disconnect between traditional seasonal business closures and actual tourist demand. As November approaches, many shops, souvenir stores, and beach establishments in towns from Positano to Ravello are closing for the season, following traditional autumn patterns.

However, a paradox has emerged as beaches remain crowded with tourists and residents enjoying the sun and sea. While traditional hotels primarily host international excursion groups, the short-term vacation rental sector is seeing intense demand, often at prices that do not reflect the low season. This shift suggests a need for new hospitality policies and seasonal diversification to bridge the gap between available services and real visitor presence.
