Amalfi implements new land occupation rules and electric logistics

The municipality of Amalfi is addressing urban management and sustainability through new administrative and logistical measures. The civic group ‘Amalfi Casa Comune’, led by lawyer Antonella Franzese, has submitted a 54-page dossier regarding the new Maximum Public Land Occupation Plan (PMO). The group seeks to balance the economic needs of local businesses with the preservation of public spaces, specifically advocating for safe pedestrian corridors with a minimum width of 1.50 meters in high-traffic tourist areas such as Piazza dei Dogi, Piazza Duomo, and Via dei Prefetturi.

In a separate effort to improve environmental sustainability, the administration led by Mayor Daniele Milano has acquired a new 100% electric forklift for the loading and unloading of goods in the historic center. The vehicle, costing 46,000 euros and operated by Sistema Amalfi srl, is designed to eliminate polluting emissions and reduce noise levels to protect the local landscape. This acquisition is part of a broader strategy to modernize municipal services and regulate morning logistics to minimize the impact of commercial operations on the urban environment.
