Amaliada considers three locations to relocate Foufei Special Primary School

Three alternative proposals have been submitted to the Municipal Council of Ilida regarding the relocation of the Foufei Special Primary School in Amaliada. The initiative follows a recommendation from the Directorate of Primary Education of Ilia to address the current building's inability to meet the increasing needs of its students.

Deputy Mayor Giorgos Krallis identified three potential locations: the former primary school in the community of Sosti, the former school in Ampelokampos, and the existing school facilities in Douneika. The Sosti location is currently considered the most viable option due to its existing infrastructure and large courtyard, which could be adapted for special education requirements.

Additionally, the municipal authorities are considering a 10-acre plot in the Agios Dimitrios area, donated by a private individual for the construction of a school or sports center. The long-term goal is to establish a multi-functional special school on this site to serve students of all ages, though this project would require further studies and funding.
