Amaliada: Two arrested for apartment building explosion and arson

Two men were arrested in Amaliada during the early hours of the morning following an explosion and arson attack at the entrance of an apartment building. According to police, the suspects deployed an improvised explosive-incendiary device that caused an initial blast followed by a fire.

Witnesses reported seeing an individual wearing dark clothing and a helmet fleeing the scene immediately after the explosion. Following an investigation, police located the two suspects attempting to flee in a vehicle. Although the driver attempted to evade authorities by speeding, officers successfully immobilized the car and took both men into custody.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a helmet, a full-face balaclava, a lighter, disposable gloves, and clothing used to conceal the suspects' identities. At the scene of the explosion, investigators recovered remnants of a plastic bottle with burn marks and firework residue. The suspects face charges including explosion, arson, manufacture of explosives, and weapons law violations.
