Amaliada: Two siblings bury mother in home garden
In Amaliada, Greece, two siblings reportedly buried their 79-year-old mother in the garden of their family home following her death, which is believed to have occurred on Monday. The siblings allegedly claimed they lacked the financial means to afford a traditional funeral.
A third brother, who lives in the same house, filed a report with the Elis Criminal Investigation Department after being unable to persuade his siblings to provide a proper burial in a cemetery. Following the report, police secured the area and scheduled an exhumation of the body in the presence of a forensic pathologist to determine the exact cause of death and investigate the circumstances of the burial.
The deceased woman had been experiencing health issues prior to her passing. Authorities are currently investigating the allegations to confirm the details provided by the reporting brother.
