Inditex and Santander announce significant shareholder payouts

Major Spanish corporations are executing substantial shareholder remuneration plans. Inditex is distributing its largest dividend in history, totaling more than 5,454 million euros for the year. This represents a 4.1% increase, bringing the dividend to 1.75 euros per share. Amancio Ortega, the founder and primary shareholder, is set to receive a record 3,234 million euros in dividends for 2026 through his investment vehicles, Pontegadea Inversiones and Partler.

Similarly, Banco Santander is paying a cash dividend of 0.127 euros per share, amounting to approximately 1,850 million euros. This distribution is a 10% increase compared to the same period last year and accounts for roughly 16.5% of the bank's accumulated net profit through September. This payment follows a share buyback program worth 1,825 million euros concluded in late October. Together, these actions reflect a broader trend of high shareholder returns among leading Spanish financial and retail entities.
