Amanda Anisimova reunites with coach Hendrik Vleeshouwers

American tennis player Amanda Anisimova has reunited with her former coach, Hendrik Vleeshouwers, in Toronto as she prepares for the hard court season at the National Bank Open. The pairing, which began in 2024 following Anisimova's mental health hiatus, had split in March 2026 before reforming after Wimbledon.

Anisimova's 2026 season has been challenging following a standout 2025. After reaching a career-high world No. 3 ranking in January, her form declined, exacerbated by a left wrist injury that forced her to miss several clay-court tournaments, including the Italian Open. Following early exits at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Anisimova expressed a need to rediscover her enjoyment of the game.

Anisimova noted that the recent split from Vleeshouwers allowed the pair to gain perspective, stating, "I feel like with the break now, it was good that we had some space and we learned what kind of went wrong towards the end." She also shared that she often tells strangers she works in finance to maintain a low profile and avoid unwanted attention.
