Amanda Kloots discusses dating and grief after loss of husband

Amanda Kloots is addressing misconceptions regarding dating after the loss of a spouse. Following the death of her husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, from COVID-19 complications in 2020, Kloots has emphasized that forming new romantic connections does not diminish the love held for a deceased partner.

Kloots, who hosts the “Good Grief” podcast, described the heart’s capacity to hold multiple forms of love simultaneously. She shared that she continues to feel a spiritual connection to Cordero while embracing new relationships, comparing the ability to love again to having a new child without loving an existing one any less.

Reflecting on her journey, Kloots noted that Cordero’s passing at age 41 motivated her to continue living. She also recounted receiving what she perceived as a reassuring sign from him through a song on the radio just before the launch of her podcast.
