Amanda Seyfried performs Joni Mitchell cover interrupted by Ghostface

Actress Amanda Seyfried shared a video on Instagram performing a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case of You.” The musical tribute took a humorous turn when the Ghostface character from the “Scream” franchise appeared behind her, prompting a scream from the actress.

Seyfried had previously been cast to portray Mitchell in a biopic centered on the singer and her manager, Elliot Roberts. Although that specific project was shelved, Seyfried noted her deep emotional connection to Mitchell’s 1971 album, Blue, stating she felt like a “bona fide musician” after learning the songs. During her preparation, Seyfried met Mitchell at her Los Angeles home to listen to the album together.

While Seyfried’s project is no longer moving forward, director Cameron Crowe is reportedly working on a different Mitchell project featuring Meryl Streep in the singer's later years. Additionally, Seyfried has been considered for a role in the potential film Scream 8.
