Amanda Shatzko seeks third term as North Okanagan director

Amanda Shatzko has announced her candidacy for a third term as the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) Electoral Area C director, representing the BX and Silver Star regions.

During her previous eight years in office, Shatzko focused on fiscal responsibility and community development. Key achievements include securing the 137-acre BX Ranchlands for public ownership and its subsequent transformation into the sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park to support food security and environmental restoration. She also championed the Rural Economic Development Service to attract external investment and grants for local infrastructure and recreation.

Shatzko’s platform for the upcoming 2026 municipal election includes enhancing wildfire resilience, supporting local agriculture, and continuing to invest in regional infrastructure while maintaining low tax rates.
