Amanda Yeates tells inquiry CFMEU officials stalked her children

During a Commission of Inquiry into the CFMEU and misconduct in the construction industry, former Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads deputy director-general Amanda Yeates testified that she resigned from her position due to fear for her family's safety.

Ms. Yeates alleged that CFMEU officials stalked her children, tracking them to bus stops and netball games. She testified that union figures made comments demonstrating they knew her children's names, locations, and daily activities. This led her to change her children's travel routines and ultimately leave the public service in July 2022 after more than 25 years of service.

In addition to allegations of stalking, Ms. Yeates described a pattern of bullying and abusive behavior by union leaders, including Jade Ingham and Michael Ravbar, between 2020 and 2022. She reported being subjected to expletive-laden verbal abuse and sexist remarks during meetings regarding workplace entitlement conditions.
