Amantea Comics festival announces 2026 program

The ninth edition of Amantea Comics, an independent pop culture festival, is scheduled for August 21 and 22, 2026, at Parco Comunale La Grotta in Amantea, Italy. Promoted by the Amantea Comics per Stefania Mari Cultural Association with support from the Calabria Region and the Municipality of Amantea, the event follows the theme ‘Who run the world?’, focusing on the representation of women in comics, illustration, and contemporary society.

The festival will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the French publication of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s ‘The Little Prince’. Activities include a public reading of the work in the local Amantean dialect, accompanied by live music, and various workshops, exhibitions, and gaming tournaments.

Other highlights include the ‘Ink Ring’ creative challenge featuring illustrators such as Ida Corti, and a dubbing seminar titled ‘Recognize this voice?’. The latter will feature voice actors including Sara Giacopello, Dimitri Winter, and Pasquale Severino, who discuss the craft of character voice construction and its impact on audiences.
