In Amantea, local authorities are facing scrutiny regarding a water emergency and the transparency of the response. Following an ordinance issued on September 11 due to non-compliance with water quality parameters detected by the ASP at the Crocevia fountain, a subsequent ordinance on September 16 revoked the ban based on SORICAL analyses.

Questions have been raised regarding the distinction between the SORICAL-managed delivery points and the municipal-managed internal water network where the initial non-compliance was identified. There are calls for the administration to provide specific analysis results and clarify what interventions were made to ensure the restoration of water safety, including potential further checks by ARPACAL.
