Amantea faces water safety bans and political shifts

In Amantea, the local political group ‘Amantea Città Libera’ has announced a new phase of civic engagement focused on proposing a concrete political and administrative project for the city’s future. The group aims to address critical issues including municipal finances, waste management, urban maintenance, and social policies.

Simultaneously, the Mayor of Amantea has issued an ordinance prohibiting the use of tap water for drinking or oral hygiene in the urban center. This precautionary measure follows a report from the ASP of Cosenza regarding a non-compliant parameter found in a water sample at a public fountain. ‘Amantea Città Libera’ has publicly demanded transparency regarding the specific nature of the non-compliance, the recorded values, and the reasons for extending the ban to the entire urban network.
