Amanwana resort offers luxury glamping on Indonesia’s Moyo Island

Amanwana is a luxury all-inclusive glamping resort located on the west coast of Moyo Island in Indonesia, overlooking the Flores Sea. Opened in 1993, it is recognized as the first luxury tented resort in Asia.

The resort features 17 glamping tents situated along a grassy stretch near the shoreline, with options including jungle, ocean view, and ocean front locations. These spacious 58-square-metre accommodations are designed with teak frames and hardy canvas rooftops, functioning more like luxury suites than traditional tents.

Guests arrive via a 20-minute drive from Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin Airport in Sumbawa, followed by a 45-minute boat ride on the resort’s open-air cruiser, the Aman X. The surrounding environment consists of rainforest habitats home to macaques and protected rusa deer.
