Amapá cultural events honor singer and train entrepreneurs

In Macapá, the 1st Women in the Samba Circle Meeting will be held on September 26 at the Maracatu da Favela Samba School. The event will honor the late singer Júlia Medeiros, who passed away on September 11 after a battle with terminal cancer.

The gathering is part of a larger national and international movement of women in samba, aiming to promote music, ancestry, and female participation in the genre. Medeiros, a singer with a nearly 40-year career, was a significant figure in the local cultural scene.

Separately, in Tartarugalzinho, approximately 40 entrepreneurs, artisans, and cultural workers participated in a digital survival training session organized by the Amapá Culture Committee. The workshop focused on digital literacy and the strategic use of social media to increase the visibility and autonomy of creative professionals in the region.
