Amape Residents' Association launches free community dance project

The Residents' Association of the Maria Aparecida Pedrossian neighborhood (Amape) has launched a free dance project to promote community well-being and social interaction. Held every Wednesday and Friday at 2:00 PM, the rhythm classes are offered at no cost to participants.

The initiative is a partnership facilitated by the Executive Secretariat of Youth (Sejuv). Led by instructor Gislaine Godoi, the sessions currently serve an initial group of more than 15 people. The classes follow a structured physical routine, beginning with stretching and muscle preparation, followed by guided choreographies, and concluding with a cooldown period.

The musical repertoire includes various genres such as Bachata, Forró, Xote, Vaneira, Sertanejo, and Seresta. According to Godoi, the project aims to improve physical and mental health by enhancing motor coordination, mobility, balance, and physical conditioning, while also fostering socialization and self-esteem within the territory.
